CHAPTER 06 VISUAL LAB - Instructions and visible results
Book boards: 06a and 06b

PRACTICE ROUTINE
Cover the board answer. Predict aloud, try the example, compare with the
stated result, change one input, and try again. Explain a discrepancy
before changing another thing. All marketing examples are fictional.

Use boards 06a and 06b after reading Chapter 6. In Thonny choose File > Open,
open this folder's walkthrough.py, and choose Run > Run current script (F5).
The code belongs in the editor area, not beside the Python Shell's >>> prompt.
No terminal commands are required.

EXPECTED OUTPUT
Hello, marketing
25.0
300 / 12

FOLLOW THE CODE
The first line asks print to display text. On the second line, Python divides
two numbers before print displays the result. On the third line, quotation
marks request literal text, so no division is performed. Parentheses enclose
what is supplied to print; they are not displayed in these results.

CHANGE, PREDICT, CHECK
Save a practice copy named my_walkthrough.py. Change 300 to 120 and 12 to 8
on the second and third lines. Predict both changed outputs, then run.
Answer: the two changed lines display 15.0 and 120 / 8 respectively.

REPAIR PRACTICE
In your practice copy, remove the final parenthesis from one print instruction.
Running should report a syntax problem. Restore it, save and run again.
The error wording may vary; the missing matching character is the cause.
The original starter files hello.py and first_calculation.py in start_here
provide separate short examples for further comparison.
