CHAPTER 03 VISUAL LAB - Locate the saved item you actually edited
Book boards: 03a and 03b

PRACTICE ROUTINE
Cover the board answer. Predict aloud, try the example, compare with the
stated result, change one input, and try again. Explain a discrepancy
before changing another thing. All marketing examples are fictional.

Use boards 03a and 03b. Work with your own plain-text note, not a reference
program. This exercise intentionally changes only files you create yourself.

REPRODUCE 03a
Create technical_marketing/my_work if needed. Save campaign_notes.txt there.
Start in the folder containing technical_marketing and open each folder in
the printed relative path. Repeat starting inside my_work: the remaining
relative path is just campaign_notes.txt. The saved file has not moved.

REPRODUCE 03b
Put Period: September in the note and save. Change the editor to October,
save, close and reopen that same path. You should see October. These are
separate actions even if an application offers automatic saving.

CHANGE, PREDICT, CHECK
Create drafts and finished folders inside my_work. Put a separate copy of
the note in each and set both saved copies to September first. Then change
only the draft copy to October and save it. Predict what
the finished copy will contain, then reopen it.
Answer: September. Each copy is a separate saved item. If the result differs,
inspect both locations and whether you copied, moved, or reopened a different
file. Do not diagnose the problem from the filename alone.

EXPLAIN YOUR RESULT
Name the file, its containing folder and its actual saved contents. Explain
that later Python output will be another place to inspect: a changed program
does not update an old result until the revised instructions are run.
